The weekend

A couple of warmish days in Toowoomba to start the lead up to the summer holidays...
once you get used to the savage natives...life is pretty relaxed and friendly there...

well, except when there is a ballet concert on! The Littlest one had to have her hair done too!

It all started fairly early Saturday morning with a full dress rehearsal...Mummy was pretty busy getting the girls hair and makeup done in time...

that all looks pretty good...now for a quick pose for the cameras...and off we go....

see you later girls...

The littlies and I were lucky to be able to enjoy another walk to the japanese gardens...and on the way I was so surprised and delighted to see the cactus garden flowering away!

the kids always enjoy stopping to look at it as we go past! Look out on my other blog in the next day or so for my TODAY'S FLOWERS post! And you will see some more of these lovely things!

then of course it is a race to get to the gate first isn't it?

A quick stop in the shade for morning tea....

before we head off to walk around and over the cute orange bridges...

and enjoy the water trickling down again..last time I was here they had turned it off again.

Always a bit tricky trying to get photos and make sure no-one falls in the lake...

Someone helped dad mow the lawn when we got home...good on you !

And off I went to the Empire Theatre to see the girls ballet...they were absolutely beautiful...and danced very well. Unfortunately I was not allowed to take photos, so this is all you get to see of it! A bit disappointing for me, actually. But, what a wonderful performance.
On my way home this morning, I decided to detour through Picnic Point to get some nice photos for you! Always a pretty spot, especially at this time of the year!

The water tower is always the distinctive feature!

I was amused by this sign. I now know how far I am from New York...but that they think that New York and San Francisco are in opposite directions...oh well...just a bit of fun, I guess!

The flower beds were quite pretty....

I was delighted to find that the jacarandas are flowering away beautifully...since the ones here are now on their downward trend.

Sorry about the length of this post...I should have made this into a separate post for you.

Went out to the annual Jems quilt show at lunchtime after I arrived back. I tried to stop and take a photo of the clouds building up out of the horizon, but it just wasn't the right spot. They were quite magnificent!
OK..here are some of the quilts....

and some of the live jazz at lunchtime.....

Hope you have had a great weekend also!
