oops..hope I am not repeating myself here...this is Jill in the National Mall with The Capitol building in the background.
Ann is glad to be home after a warm day in Washington DC
Some of the sights we saw...lots of Sculptures....
Jill enjoyed brekky at the hotel...
and we loved a concert we heard by the Columbia choir in the east court garden in the east building of the National Art Gallery at the Smithsonian.

on the streets of Arlington....the suburb we stayed at...
where the escalators are the longest in the world...I reckon!
just up the road from the Pentagon...lots of army men around one day!
saw some wonderful paintings at the National Gallery and the Freer Gallery at the Smithsonian...
a wonderful garden of blue and white flowers at the Haupt Garden, in the Smithsonian Mall
National Museum of African Art..which we didn't get time to see...
and the sculpture garden
and then the White House...of course, because it is there...
Didn't see the girls out on the lawn playing witth their new puppy though...what a shame...
nor even Barack or Michelle ...mmm...do you fancy living in a fish bowl? I reckon the girls are up there peering out the windows at all the visitors!
Jill and Ann at the white house..
more sculptures from our trolley bus tour
and the red white and blue flower dispaly at the White house.
these fellows thought it would be good to see washington on these things...forgotten their name...I don't fancy standing up all day anyway. Myself. I kind of like to be able to sit down occasionally on a bus...etc..

The Wshington Memorial ...where you can see the color change in the bricks...where the clay changed as they took so long to build it!
some more lovely photos at the Freer gallery...
and ending with another blossom photo for you!
